WELCOMING WOMEN TO BEAUTIFUL NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE
President's Message - March 1, 2021
NOTL Newcomers Club is there for all its members during the Covid 19 Pandemic. We continue to encourage everyone to follow the health and safety guidelines from Public Health. As we head into Spring the news that the vaccines with soon be here for all of us who wish them has given us a rough timeline for the end of the various restrictions that have been put into place to protect us all. During the past year we while we have had to pause most of our in-person events and activities, we have moved to holding several events via online video conferencing technology.
As activities during this time have been limited the Executive agreed to extend memberships from 2019/20 into 2021. No dues are payable at this time and you can continue using the same membership number. As a social club we wish to reach out to new members of the community and therefore we have agreed on a nominal fee of $10 for new members while we are in pandemic mode. This gives new members access to our website, and any virtual events that we may offer.
We will get through this and will be stronger for it. While it may be hard now to laugh at things, I am sure that it won't be long, and we will fondly look back at our 'adventures' during this time of crisis.
Pauline Miller, President
The NOTL Newcomers Club is for women who live in the Ontario municipality of Niagara-on-the-Lake, which includes Old Town, Glendale, Queenston, St. Davids and Virgil. Our goal is to welcome women who are new to the town, and to help them meet one another and discover everything our unique town has to offer residents.
Membership is open to women who have recently moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL) and also to women residents who have undergone a major change in their lives, such as retirement, and want to become more involved in local life.
During this time of crisis, as many of our usual activities cannot take place, new members may join for $10 and have access to online information. Some interest groups are continuing via programs such as Zoom.
