WELCOMING WOMEN TO BEAUTIFUL NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE

Presidents Message - August 2025

Wow- Summer is halfway through – it certainly has been a hot and humid July!!

Here’s hoping for a less humid, sunny and warm August to enjoy all the fun activities available to us.

It’s Peach season – a time to celebrate the harvest with the Peach Festival, the Shades of Rose dinner on Queen St., Murder Mystery night at the Navy Hall, winery concerts, Shaw theatre plays, Art festivals – so many wonderful things to do in our beautiful NOTL.

Your Executive board is busy planning our Welcome back meeting on September 17, with the Keynote Speaker to be Tim Carroll, Artistic Director of the Shaw Festival. Stay tuned for details in the September newsletter.

About the NEWSLETTER-

We are urgently looking for someone to take on the position of Newsletter Director. Sue Henry has done our Newsletter for years and she would like a break, to focus on Special Programs and her Third Thursday lunch group.

We are also looking for someone who will work with Karin on our website and PR Communications.

Without a Newsletter Director or a Website/PR Associate, we have no communication pathway with our membership. Please consider volunteering for one of these roles – training is provided, and help is always available. You just need a computer, some creativity and the ability to download graphics.

FYI- Membership dues are now past due – if you have not yet renewed, we would appreciate you renewing online, asap. Thank you!

See you all in September.

Yours in friendship,
Megan Wood
President
NOTL Newcomers

The NOTL Newcomers Club is for women who live in the Ontario municipality of Niagara-on-the-Lake, which includes Old Town, Glendale, Queenston, St. Davids and Virgil. Our goal is to welcome women who are new to the town, and to help them meet one another and discover everything our unique town has to offer residents.

Membership is open to women who have recently moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL) and also to women residents who have undergone a major change in their lives, such as retirement, and want to become more involved in local life.

As a social club our goal is to help women who are new to the Niagara-on-the-Lake area, or who have had a significant life change to make new friends and participate in fun social activities.  Let's all hope that we will be able to have a busy year full of fun, social engagements and join a new interest group or participate in a new activity where we meet new people.
